We have been with R&W Heating for several years now for maintenance on our HVAC system, and their service has always been consistently excellent. A couple of years ago, we chose them to replace our 13‑year‑old Viessmann boiler, and once again the work was done flawlessly.This spring, we needed to replace our AC unit, including the Unico air handler. The installation was, as expected, highly professional. But because it was such a cool spring, we didn’t actually run the AC until a hot weekend well into June. When we finally turned it on, it was loud—so loud that living near train tracks, we honestly thought a train was coming.We contacted R&W, and they immediately sent a technician. He determined that the installation needed to be redone and ordered replacement parts. A few weeks later, the team returned and replaced the entire installation—all of it—at no charge.You naturally think highly of your HVAC contractor when everything works perfectly and your system runs smoothly. But you truly learn how good a company is when something goes wrong. R&W gets our highest possible rating. They are a company that makes sure their work is done right and that their clients are fully satisfied.

R&W’s owners, techs and office staff just got us through one of the most frightening furnace failures in our lives. Not only were they upfront, honest and full of all of the information and options that we needed to make our decisions, they met or exceeded everything they promised, from lead time to support after the sale. Every question I had was answered, every time our situation changed we were Encouraged to keep them apprised, and when we all realized that the situation was dire, they shifted gears and expedited a full gas boiler replacement in days (not weeks), in the middle of the coldest snap of the cold snap of ‘26. Yes, it was expensive - but they work with a bank to finance and in the end, ‘you get what you pay for’ - which for us is a quality engineered machine, installed properly by top notch professionals, supported by a kind, knowledgeable staff and owners with integrity. We’ll pay for that. Every. Time.

I had a zone that went out during a cold snap this past weekend. I had to call the emergency service number around midnight on a Friday. I spoke with Henry, a lead tech, who helped me diagnose the issue over the phone and gave me some tips on how to troubleshoot the issue. Henry called me back the following morning to see if the issue was resolved. He was extremely helpful and saved me hundreds of dollars. This company is amazing. I find them to be upfront and transparent about costs - so you’re never left with a surprise. As well, everyone is kind and patient, including technicians and office staff. Our AC unit died. We called R&W and they promptly came out and gave us an assessment of what we needed to replace it. They scheduled us as soon as they could and showed up on time. Our heater completely broke 2 days before Christmas! R&W came to the rescue despite having never been a customer before. They were recommended to us and they did not disappoint! They came out on Christmas Eve to figure out the heater was cracked. They ordered the unit and as soon at in came in they installed on New Year's eve! They were fantastic to work with...the install staff were super kind and a delight to work with. We are so happy that we replaced both the heater AND AC unit! I'd give them 10 stars if I could. Our AC died in the middle of a brutal heat wave, and initially we scheduled an appointment for service for about a week out, and they put us on the cancellation list in case anything came up sooner. Within hours I had a call back letting me know that a technician was available in our area. He came out and fixed the issue in under an hour! The receptionist was so friendly and helpful, and the technician was knowledgeable and efficient. We will definitely be using this company again for regular service and maintenance.

R & W Heating recently replaced our old 24 year old propane furnace and all associated piping, pumps, and controls with a new Viessmann high efficiency floor standing gas boiler. From start to finish every aspect of the work was professional, courteous, well designed, and done with great skill and attention to detail. The new heating system looks great and the performance is much better and more efficient (95 percent) than the old one. Everyone at R&W Heating was a pleasure to speak to and work with on the project. They explained everything and answered all of our questions. We are very satisfied with our new heating system! Professional, outstanding, honest, and reliable are just a few words to describe my experience with this company. Furnace would not run, had no heat and with two small children it made for a bad situation. Not being a customer, they sent out a tech within 2 hours. Ray met me at my front door with a smile on his face and immediately made me feel calmer about the situation. An hour and a half later, he was leaving and my furnace was back up and running in better condition than before. The price was fair and reasonable. They have my business from here on out, I couldn't have asked for a better experience for an emergency situation. Little late on this review, but early enough for those planning on their ac split unit installs for our next summer. One, punctual, two, cost in the budget, and three service. Showed up for estimate. Price was where I expected for a 15k handler and one indoor unit, and three, on time, flawless install. Electrician is separate arrangement, but their recommendation, was spot on. Install was 2021. And if I call Rw , they would be here first since they installed. SE CT, these are your people. Give them a chance, you won't be disappointed.

I have used R&W Heating for years and have been more than satisfied each time they come out. I use them for regular maintenance for both my furnace and A/C as well as dryer vent cleaning. I will never forget 2019 when my furnace stopped working on a cold Christmas Eve. No matter, R&W came out over the holiday and installed a new furnace for me. Their staff, mechanics and apprentices are always professional thoughtful and respectful. I have also had them install new thermostats and a humidifier. When my hot water heater blew, I wanted a heat pump replacement. R&W worked hand in hand with my electrician to install it. In short, they are a fantastic company to do business with in all capacities. I recommend them highly!

During the past heating season, my furnace went off like a gunshot, filled the house with black smoke, and definitely required an experienced technician to get it up and running again. No worries, R and W sent one of the most senior techs, Greg, and an apprentice to deal with the issue. From the moment they arrived until the moment they left, and for all In between I knew I was being taken very good care of. They identified the problem quickly, stayed on task diligently, and fixed my issue like magic, I had heat again! Beyond the service, the personnel were friendly, knowledgeable, and satisfaction oriented. All was explained in easy to understand terms, and the end result continues to be superior operating of my heating system. I could not have been happier with service from R and W, so happy I chose to use them, and will continue to do so for regular maintaining and not just service! I cannot say enough good things about R&W Heating. We’ve been using them for the last 2 years for annual checks on our boiler. Just recently, our boiler, which was the original built in this house, at over 30 years old, started to give us trouble and began leaking. Rather than just putting a bandaid and fixing something that would most likely be needing a full replacement anyway, we decided to install a new system altogether. The staff at R&W were extremely helpful throughout the entire process. From Ashlee in the office assisting with paperwork and quotes and Rick coming over and spending time to talk to us about the process, our options, and explaining the way the system actually works, to Greg and the other techs that came and did the install in the amount of time promised, we couldn’t be happier. Techs were on time, phone calls and emails always returned quickly. The boiler runs way quieter than our old one, is more efficient and we couldn’t be happier with this whole process. We will continue to use this company for our annual check up and any repairs and would recommend R&W Heating to anyone.

I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful R&W is. My husband and I decided this was the year we wanted to get rid of our huge, loud window AC and switch to a ductless A/C system. R&W from the first phone call was wonderful, informative and responsive. We had reached out to other companies but just didn't feel great about them (or couldn't even get a call back.) with R&W I got to speak with people in the office, and the techs that came to install and everyone was great and knowledgeable. We initially were only planning on putting units in part of the house, but after going over everything decided to do our entire house. We are so happy with the install and how well the system works. I researched companies in the area who where Mitsubishi or Fujitsu Dealers and found R&W the best choice. From estimating to installation of two heat pumps with ductwork and all, this is the best I have experienced having been in the refrigeration business myself for over 40 years. We had a water heater installed to our existing boiler and from the estimate all the way through install Rick and Kyle went above what I had expected. They were professional and made sure to answer all the questions I had. Very knowledgeable about the system and how to optimize what I currently had to address the lack of hot water I was experiencing. We would HIGHLY recommend R&W Heating. A former building inspector recommended the company to us to get our boiler replaced with a high efficiency model.
